Encouraging community engagement and collaboration

Our schools run on tens of thousands of volunteer hours every year, from retired neighbors helping first graders learn to read, to parents running book fairs and bake sales, to community members overseeing our parcel tax and bond dollars.

Our community's diverse skills and experience are an asset we haven't fully tapped.
If re-elected, Megan will keep welcoming feedback and bringing educators, parents, students, and community members together to maximize what we can accomplish together.

Preparing every student for today and tomorrow

Kids today face constant technological change, and success tomorrow requires learning how to think critically, how to learn, and how to understand who they are and how they engage with others.

Students are also under pressure, both social and academic, in ways that those of even one generation ago cannot always understand, requiring the district to prioritize student well-being and mental health.
If re-elected, Megan will keep supporting our allocation of funds for school counselors and our accessing of state funds to offset costs, while also raising key questions for our district and educators: How much screen time is helpful? How are students using AI, and are they learning to think critically about it? And Megan will bring the community into these conversations so that we balance developing tech literacy with human-centered learning.
